Working To Wellbeing and BW Consulting partnership expands access to vocational rehabilitation

Working To Wellbeing partners with BW Consulting to help more advisers and organisations access specialist, evidence-based Vocational Rehabilitation Coaching.

Working To Wellbeing has announced a new partnership with BW Consulting, designed to broaden access to specialist vocational rehabilitation services through the adviser community.

The collaboration will enable Working To Wellbeing to work more closely with advisers, helping them connect employer clients with Vocational Rehabilitation Coaching as a standalone service or as part of wider health and risk concierge propositions.

Through the partnership, more organisations will be able to access practical, clinically led support for employees living with complex or long-term health conditions. This includes helping people remain in work, manage their health alongside employment and achieve a sustainable return following long-term absence.

Expanding access to vocational rehabilitation

Vocational rehabilitation has traditionally been introduced to many employers through Group Income Protection. Although this remains an effective route to support, closer collaboration with advisers creates an opportunity to make specialist services available to a broader range of organisations and employees.

Working To Wellbeing Managing Director Dr Julie Denning said vocational rehabilitation provides a crucial and often missing connection between health support and the practical realities of work.

Effective support must go beyond identifying whether someone is fit to work. It should help the individual, employer and relevant stakeholders understand what is needed to support a sustainable outcome.

Working To Wellbeing’s Vocational Rehabilitation Coaching provides personalised, evidence-based support delivered by specialist healthcare professionals. Each individual works with their own Vocational Rehabilitation Coach, who takes time to understand their health, work and personal circumstances before developing a bespoke programme.

Supporting greater employer confidence

The partnership comes at a time when many employers and line managers are facing increasingly complex workplace health needs.

Recent Working To Wellbeing research found that 56 per cent of surveyed line managers felt confident supporting employees with long-term health conditions, compared with 70 per cent when the research was previously conducted in 2022.

By making specialist support easier to access, Working To Wellbeing and BW Consulting aim to help advisers strengthen the health and work support available to their clients.

This is particularly important for smaller organisations, where internal resources may be limited and workplace health support can be fragmented or overly reliant on digital services.

Working To Wellbeing believes that maintaining a human connection is essential. Its services combine clinical expertise, evidence-based practice and personalised support to help employers and employees navigate health-related workplace challenges.

Dr Denning said:

“By collaborating with advisers, we can help our services reach more organisations and build employer confidence to support employees with complex health needs and chronic conditions.”
