We like to be able to help people as soon as they need it. Our clinically-led and evidence based work support service is designed to enable individuals to self-manage their symptoms, remain in or return to work when ready. We focus on physical, cognitive, psychological and emotional components of illness. We provide health coaching support with a strong vocational bias to help people restore their day-to-day functioning and quality of life and return to work when ready. We believe that good work is an important part of the recovery pathway and is an outcome that we work towards.
We know that emotional experience occurs on a continuum and that it helps to have stepped care approach to emotional support. People who are experiencing emotional difficulties do not always need psychotherapy, rather they would benefit from the opportunity to talk things through, have their feelings validated and be taught the power of compassion, acceptance and problem solving skills. Our Telephone emotional support service is delivered by clinicians skilled at supporting people with emotional difficulties and know when to step people up into more intensive levels of support when need be.
Following referral, we carry out an initial assessment of the individual to understand their emotional needs and experience. We determine what level of support the person needs and can provide a detailed report summarising our recommendations as to what would help the individual the most at that time.
Unfortunately we are not able to support someone during the acute phase of a moderate to severe mental illness, addictions and eating disorders.
To help people to manage their emotional experience to help to improve their day to day functioning and quality of life and support them to remain in or return to work when ready.
The service is for anyone who is experiencing mild to moderate emotional difficulties.
Yes! We liaise with their employers and occupational health if needed to ensure their colleague gets the support they need when they need it. We can advise on reasonable adjustments and return to work planning to help the person to remain at work or to return to work when ready.
HCPC registered clinicians who have specialist knowledge in mood and mental health provide the service. Through our assessment process we determine whether the individual needs light touch support or psychotherapy to help with their needs and match them with the appropriately skilled clinician.
